Monistat 1 is supposed to be a fast acting
treatment which will significantly reduce or
even eliminate the nasty itching and burning
sensation which comes with a yeast infection.
Whilst it works for a very small majority,
unfortunately, as many people have reported,
the infection will return once the treatment
has wore off and oftentimes the infection comes
back worse than it went away. People with only
very mild symptoms who took Monistat 1 reported
increased symptoms after the suggested time
period. It is often suggested that the Monistat
1 treatment is far too concentrated for most
people which causes too much irritation on top
of the other symptoms.
The other problem we have with this product
(and indeed other similar topical treatments)
is that they serve only to reduce the symptoms
of your infection. This is okay for people who
are addressing the underlying problem, but if
you’re not then the infection is bound to
return. It’s like taking painkillers for a
toothache, if you don’t get that filling or
have the tooth removed the problem is still
there, no matter how many pain killers you
take.
